The smell of fresh cinnamon buns filled the classroom as our Foods 1 students wrapped up their final 2-day yeast bread lab! From mixing and kneading to proofing and baking, students worked hard to master the art of homemade yeast breads — and the results were delicious! 🍞✨

These warm, gooey cinnamon buns were the perfect way to end the lab and showcase the skills students have developed this semester. Great job, Foods 1 students! 👏🧁

🌮 Teacher Appreciation Taco Tuesday! 🌮

We may not be able to solve all the world’s problems… but we can fix a Tuesday with tacos! 😄

Today we’re celebrating our incredible teachers with a build-your-own taco bar—complete with all the fixings, chips, and plenty of good food to keep you going (because grading papers runs on more than just coffee… although we’ve got that covered too 😉).

Thank you for everything you do—your dedication, patience, and heart do not go unnoticed. We appreciate you nacho average amount… It’s a whole lot! 💙

Fashion & Textile I students are bringing color theory to life! 🎨

Today, students explored the fundamentals of the color wheel by mixing and painting primary, secondary, and intermediate colors. This hands-on activity helps build a strong foundation for future design work, from fabric selection to creating visually balanced projects. It’s always great to see creativity and focus in action as students turn concepts into colorful results!

The Moving Wall

Taking learning outside the classroom! 🚌📚 Today, North Stokes students took an unforgettable, eye-opening field trip to the "The Moving Wall" exhibit in King, NC.

What is The Moving Wall? 🤔 It's a half-size replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., that travels the country to bring this important piece of history directly to local communities. It was a profound and moving experience for our students to walk alongside the reflective panels and honor those who served. 🇺🇸

The learning didn't stop outside! Students also explored a fascinating indoor exhibit packed with local military history, vintage artifacts, and historical documents. 🎖️🗺️ Getting an up-close look at everything from ceremonial swords to historic maps and scale models is the absolute best way to make history jump right out of the textbook!

We are so proud of our students for their curiosity, engagement, and respect today. Way to go, North Stokes! 👏

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week! 💙📚

Today, we felt truly blessed and incredibly grateful for the kindness shown to our staff. A huge thank you to Crossroads Community Church for donating a wonderful salad bar for our teachers! 🥗

Your generosity reminded us how supported and appreciated our educators are—not just within our school, but throughout our entire community. Our teachers work tirelessly each day to inspire, guide, and care for our students, and gestures like this mean more than words can express.

Thank you for helping us celebrate the amazing people who make a difference in the lives of students every single day. 💛

North Stokes High School – Foods 1 🍳

There’s nothing better than learning while having fun, and that’s exactly what our Foods 1 students did while making omelets! From cracking eggs (and a few laughs along the way!) to whisking, flipping, and adding their favorite toppings, the classroom was full of energy and excitement.

Students enjoyed getting creative with their omelets while practicing important kitchen skills like teamwork, food safety, and proper cooking techniques. Whether it was their first time cooking or they were already confident in the kitchen, everyone had a chance to learn, try something new, and most importantly—have fun doing it!

Hands-on experiences like this make learning memorable and help build skills students will use for a lifetime.

North Stokes High School – Foods 1 & Agriculture 🥚🍳🐓

From farm to table in action! Our students are learning the full journey of food—starting with caring for chickens in Agriculture and ending in the kitchen in Foods 1.

Students collected fresh eggs, explored the science behind them, and then put their skills to work by cracking, separating, and cooking their way to delicious omelettes! Along the way, they’re building real-world skills in food preparation, safety, and understanding where our food comes from.

Hands-on learning at its best—connecting the classroom to real life every step of the way!

🥧 North Stokes High School – Foods I 🥄

Our Foods I students have been busy in the kitchen learning hands-on skills that bring recipes to life! This week, students focused on cooking with eggs and milk while creating chocolate crusts, chocolate pies, and meringue from scratch.

From carefully separating eggs to whipping the perfect meringue, these students took the lead in every step of the process. They worked together, encouraged one another, and showed patience and attention to detail as they learned new techniques.

It’s exciting to see our students building confidence in the kitchen—measuring, mixing, baking, and presenting their finished products with pride. Not only are they learning how to cook, but they are also developing teamwork, responsibility, and real-world skills that will serve them well beyond the classroom.

Great job to all of our students for their hard work and delicious creations! 👏🍫

FCS Update 🙌

We were truly blessed during our FCS gathering as Neal Marshall shared a powerful message from Mark 10:46–52. Through the story of blind Bartimaeus, we were reminded that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the light—and that when we call on Him, He hears us.

One of the most meaningful parts of today was seeing how our students are not just listening, but actively living out and sharing God’s message. Our youth are stepping up boldly in their faith—encouraging one another, participating in discussions, and reflecting on how they can grow closer to God each day. It is inspiring to witness their willingness to speak, pray, and lead with confidence.

We talked about the idea of “standing still.” It’s easy to become comfortable and stay where we are, but if we remain still, we aren’t moving closer to God. Our students were challenged to take that step forward—to grow, to trust, and to follow where God is leading them. Just like Bartimaeus called out to Jesus, we are reminded to have faith that He hears us and responds.

Our youth are not just the future of the church—they are making an impact right now. They are carrying His message into our school and community, showing kindness, faith, and courage in their daily lives.

We are so proud of each student and excited to see how God continues to work through them. Let’s continue to support and encourage them as they take steps forward in faith! ✨
