📚🛡️ Learning, Laughing & Saying “NO!” at North Stokes! 🛡️📚

Our students recently explored some retro prevention materials covering important topics like alcohol, drugs, vaping, and making healthy choices. And yes… those vintage pamphlets are definitely giving us a little throwback moment! 😂

From “How to Say No to Alcohol” to “Scary Facts About Vaping,” these resources sparked conversations about making informed decisions and taking care of yourself.

And of course, our Vikings know how to make learning a little more fun! 😎🥽

Because sometimes the best lesson is knowing when to say NO! 💚🖤

💙🪨 North Stokes High School Rocks for Maddie! 🪨💙

Our North Stokes art students wanted to send a little extra love, encouragement, and Viking spirit to a very special young lady, Maddie. 💚🖤

Students painted these colorful rocks to brighten Maddie’s rock garden and remind her that she has a whole team cheering her on through this tough chapter. Each rock was painted with love and sent her way with hopes of bringing a smile to her face. 🥰

Maddie, remember: You are strong. You are brave. You are loved. And you are never alone! 💪💗

Keep being the Bravest Rock Star ever! ⭐🪨

Want to send Maddie a rock for her garden? 🪨💚

If you would like to join in and send Maddie a painted rock of your own, you can find the information about her story and where to send your rocks here:

🏈💚 POWDER PUFF: THE JUNIORS TAKE THE WIN! 💚🏈

What a night at North Stokes! The competition was HARD. FOUGHT. From the first whistle to the final play, our students brought the energy, the laughs, the hustle, and just enough questionable football decisions to keep us entertained! 😂🏈

After all the dust settled, THE JUNIORS came out on top! 🏆🎉

And let’s not forget our cheerleaders—because apparently running plays, tackling, and scoring touchdowns wasn’t enough entertainment for one night! 😂📣 They kept the crowd fired up and made sure Powder Puff had plenty of Viking spirit!

A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who came out, cheered, laughed, supported our students, and helped make this event such a success! 💚🖤

And from the NSHS Library… THANK YOU! 📚💚
Every ticket, every cheer, and every bit of support helped our library. We are so grateful for a community that shows up for our students and our school!

Congratulations, Juniors! 🏆
But don’t get too comfortable… we’re already hearing whispers of a rematch! 👀😂

🎉💚 VIKINGS SPREADING JOY! 💚🎉

What happens when you put a group of North Stokes Beta Club members and inductees in a room filled with music, smiles, dancing, and a whole LOT of joy? 🥳✨ MAGIC!

This past weekend, our students volunteered at Joy Prom Piedmont Triad 2026, and they showed up ready to SERVE, CELEBRATE, and HAVE FUN! 💃🕺🎉

From helping with set-up to cheering guests down the red carpet like they were Hollywood celebrities ⭐📸, our Vikings helped create an evening where our friends with special needs could feel celebrated, welcomed, and truly special. ❤️

And let's be honest…our students may have gone to serve, but they definitely came home with some pretty BIG smiles of their own! 😁

We are incredibly proud of these students for giving their time, sharing their kindness, and showing our community what Viking spirit is all about! 💚🖤

👏 Way to represent, Vikings! You made a difference—and you made some memories along the way!

🏛️⚡ MYTHOLOGY COMES TO LIFE IN MRS. QUEEN’S ENGLISH CLASS! ⚡🏛️

Who says English class is just about books and essays? Mrs. Queen’s students took a journey back to Ancient Greece as they explored the fascinating world of Greek gods and goddesses! 🏺📚

Students were randomly assigned a Greek god or goddess and became the class expert on their deity. They researched their figure’s mythology, powers, symbols, stories, and significance before sharing what they discovered with their classmates through a creative presentation. 🎤🔎

But the learning didn’t stop there! Students also created an “ancient artifact” representing their assigned deity. 🏺🛡️⚡ These artifacts gave students a creative way to connect the myths and symbols they researched with something tangible.

From mythology and research to public speaking and creativity, students were practicing important skills while discovering that stories from thousands of years ago still have plenty to teach us today!

📚 Research.
🏛️ Mythology.
🎤 Presentation.
🎨 Creativity.
🧠 Learning that lasts!

Way to bring Ancient Greece to life, Vikings! 💚🖤

The Trial of Christopher Columbus

⚖️🚨 COURT IS NOW IN SESSION! 🚨⚖️

Who knew history class could turn into a courtroom drama?! 👩‍⚖️📚

Mr. Wise’s class put Christopher Columbus on trial! 🌎⛵️

👨‍⚖️ Judge: Mr. Wise
👩‍⚖️ Jury: Mrs. Conner’s class
🧑‍⚖️ Attorneys & Witnesses: The students in Mr. Wise’s class

The students had to present evidence, make their arguments, and use what they’ve learned about Columbus and his voyages to prove or disprove whether Christopher Columbus was guilty of the charges against him. 📜🔎

Meanwhile, Mrs. Conner’s class had the very important job of listening to the evidence and serving as the jury. Talk about taking history seriously! 😂

This hands-on activity gave students the opportunity to:
📖 Examine historical evidence
🗣️ Practice public speaking and argumentation
🤔 Consider multiple perspectives
⚖️ Develop critical-thinking skills
🌎 Understand that history can be complicated and should be examined from more than one point of view

And let’s just say… the students came prepared to make their case! 😂

History isn’t just about memorizing dates—it’s about asking questions, examining evidence, and forming conclusions.

Court adjourned! ⚖️🔨📚

🛑 STOP Means STOP 🛑

Keeping our students safe is everyone’s responsibility. When a school bus has its red lights flashing and stop arm extended, drivers must STOP and stay stopped.

Passing a stopped school bus isn’t just dangerous—it’s against the law and can have life-changing consequences. A few extra seconds of patience can protect a child’s life.

🚌 See the lights. See the stop arm. STOP.
❤️ Kids ride. Communities thrive.

Please help us spread the word by sharing this important reminder with friends, family, and fellow drivers.
